Professional experiences

I am a specialist for Obstetrics and Gynaecology and work as a consultant at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Medical University of Graz.

I completed my undergraduate and most of my graduate training in Hungary at the University of Debrecen.

Already during my years of specialization I turned my attention to ultrasound in pregnancy.

My areas of specialty are maternal and fetomaternal medicine and also prenatal diagnostics (including invasive intrauterine management of complicated monochorionic pregnancies).

Shortly after specialist training I was awarded a two-year Marie-Curie fellowship, which took me to Medical University of Vienna. Here I had the honor to learn and work alongside one of the greatest pioneers of 3D ultrasound Professor Alfred Kratochwil and also the excellent fetomaternal specialist PD Dr. Elisabeth Krampl in the department of Professor Peter Husslein. Here I had the opportunity to exclusively study the use of volume ultrasound in the first trimester of pregnancy.

A further two-year fellowship in London at the King's College Hospital in the Harris Birthright Unit of Professor Kypros Nicolaides followed. Here I acquired founded training in the whole spectrum of fetal medicine and invasive procedures in pregnancy. At the side of Professor Lindsay Allan and Professor Ian Huggon I received extensive training in the antenatal assessment of congenital cardiac anomalies. I closed this fellowship with the Diploma in Fetal Medicine awarded by the Fetal Medicine Center London. I am certified specialist for Combined Test, fetal cardiac Assessment and Anomaly scans, as well as accredited trainer and examiner for the above types of examinations in Austria.

On my return to Austria I continued my work in the Medical University of Vienna and also joined the private office Fetomed.

In 2009 I moved to Graz and joined the at that time newly established team of Intrauterine Laser Treatment Group at the Medical University of Graz at the side of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Philipp Klaritsch. Our team greatly benefited from the immense experience of Professor Martin Häusler.

As member of the Management Team for high-risk pregnancies at the Department of Obstetrics at the University of Graz I counsel families, perform ultrasound examinations in high risk pregnancies, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures in pregnancy.

I also train graduate doctors in pregnancy ultrasound and invasive procedures.
